In fact, coffee bean production faces serious industry-wide issues—intense price competition often leads to low trading prices, and middlemen frequently determine prices, meaning small-scale farmers who grow the beans often don’t receive fair compensation.

To protect this precious coffee and its farmers, the founders began purchasing coffee beans at fair prices and opened their cafe.

They continue to practice fair trade today, purchasing all their coffee beans at prices above conventional market rates.
