Can You Meet Marvel Heroes at Avengers Campus?
Disneyland Anaheim and Disney California Adventure are must-visit destinations when you come to the Los Angeles area!
This time, we’ll introduce Avengers Campus, which opened in 2021 and is hugely popular in America!
It’s one of the fun areas where you can meet many cool heroes, so please check it out.
1. What Are the Avengers and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)?
The Avengers is a superhero team that first appeared from Marvel Comics in 1963.
Many heroes including Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow come together to fight cosmic threats.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a large series of movies, TV shows, and games based on these comic characters, with all stories sharing the same universe, and featuring crossover works where heroes from different movies appear together in one work.
While you can enjoy each work individually, one of the MCU’s great appeals is that by watching multiple works, the story world expands and deepens.
2. What is Avengers Campus?
Avengers Campus is a Marvel-themed area within Disney California Adventure Park.
When The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment in 2009, it became possible to develop facilities featuring Marvel characters in Disney parks.
3. Is It in Other Countries’ Disneylands?
Avengers Campus exists only at Disneyland in California within the United States.
Among other Disneylands worldwide, there’s an Avengers Campus in Paris, France!
While Hong Kong Disneyland doesn’t have Avengers Campus itself, it reportedly has Marvel-related attractions.
4. Heroes You Can Meet at Avengers Headquarters
Avengers Headquarters is a building in the area where you can meet Earth’s mightiest Avengers heroes.
Heroes also appear around the building and on the second-floor terrace, so please look for them!
Here are the heroes you can reportedly meet here:
Iron Man
The story follows genius inventor and businessman Tony Stark, who creates a suit to escape after being kidnapped, then begins fighting for justice as Iron Man using that suit.
Appears in the movies Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), and Iron Man 3 (2013).
Black Panther
The story of T’Challa, king of Wakanda in Africa and also a hero, who protects his country as Black Panther while facing global threats.
Appears in the movie Black Panther (2018).
Captain Marvel
Former Air Force pilot Carol Danvers awakens as a cosmic warrior and throws herself into battles between Earth and space.
This hero with superhuman strength appears in the movie Captain Marvel (2019).
Black Widow
The story of former KGB (Soviet state security intelligence agency) agent Natasha Romanoff confronting her past while facing new conspiracies.
Appears in the movie Black Widow (2021).
Thor
The story of Thor, the god of Asgard, growing while fighting various enemies on Earth and in space. The story unfolds on a grand scale using his ability to control thunder and storms.
Appears in the movies Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
Doctor Strange
The story of genius surgeon Stephen Strange who, after an accident prevents him from performing surgery, learns magic and faces threats beyond time and space.
Appears in the movie Doctor Strange (2016).
Ant-Man
The story of Scott Lang who obtains a special suit and fights evil using Pym particles to adjust atomic distances to expand or shrink his size while communicating with insects.
Appears in the movies Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).
The Wasp
Hope van Dyne, daughter of Pym particle inventor Hank Pym, acts as the Wasp and takes on adventures with Ant-Man.
Appears in the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).
The Guardians of the Galaxy
A story of a superhero team formed by characters from different extraterrestrial species and backgrounds who embark on adventures to protect the galaxy from various threats with humor and action.
Appears in the movies Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017).
Shang-Chi
The story of Shang-Chi, son of Wenwu, leader of the enemy organization “Ten Rings,” who confronts his past and uses his martial arts skills to fight against the “Ten Rings.”
Appears in the movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).
5. WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure (Attraction)
This is an interactive attraction where you face troubles caused by Spider-Bots alongside Spider-Man.
Spider-Bots were originally designed to support Spider-Man and his team, but due to unexpected loss of control, their replication won’t stop, so you work to capture the rampaging bots.
Wearing 3D glasses, when you move your arms toward the screen in front of you, you can shoot virtual webs to catch the bots.
6. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! (Attraction)
This attraction follows the story of the Guardians of the Galaxy attempting to escape from the notorious Collector’s fortress.
This was originally known as “Tower of Terror,” completely redesigned based on the Marvel theme!
You experience sudden rises and drops while the movie soundtrack plays!
Like Tower of Terror, this might be scary for those who don’t like drops!
7. Pym Test Kitchen (Restaurant)
This is a restaurant set in the Ant-Man movie universe, where they’re experimenting with changing food sizes using Pym particles.
There are many fun menu items, like sandwiches with oversized chicken only, and juice where you add sauce from pipettes as if conducting an experiment!

8. Ancient Sanctum
A small area related to Doctor Strange where you can see glowing monuments like magical energy in mysterious ancient ruins.
At night, the light colors look beautiful and the mystical atmosphere is emphasized!
9. Shawarma Palace (Snacks)
This food stand, established in reference to the ending of the movie “The Avengers,” serves the shawarma that the Avengers heroes ate in New York.
It’s near the entrance to the Spider-Man attraction, so it’s something you’ll want to eat before or after riding the attraction!
