1. What Is Toontown?

Toontown is an area themed around a fictional town where animated characters live, which opened in 1993.

The homes and streetscapes of Disney characters are recreated, allowing you to feel like you’ve jumped right into an animated world.

1. What Kind of Attraction Is It? What Are the Key Points?

This attraction recreates the world of short animated films starring Mickey and Minnie, where guests board a train and set off on an unexpected adventure.

While Mickey and Minnie are on their way to a picnic, the train driven by Goofy suddenly goes haywire, and guests get swept along into one unpredictable situation after another.

Slapstick comedy unfolds just like in the cartoons, filled with thrills and laughter.

It uses a ride system called “trackless,” which means the vehicles move freely through space without rails!

This makes the route unpredictable, and there are so many varied movements that you can’t take it all in with just one ride.

As if being pulled around by the characters themselves, you spin around, seemingly about to crash but narrowly dodging at the last second—surprise after surprise keeps coming.

The attraction also uses technology called “2.5D (Two-and-a-Half D)” which combines the latest projection technology with three-dimensional sets.

This allows you to enjoy dimensional visuals and worlds without using 3D glasses.

Projections are displayed on walls, ceilings, and even inside the vehicles, completely enveloping you in the feeling of having stepped into an animated world.

The timing of the music and sound effects is also perfect, further enhancing the comedic story.
