The Hiking Trails<\/h3>\n<p><mark class=\"hl-pink\">Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve offers a variety of hiking trails for casual hikers, families, and anyone looking for great ocean views.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p>One of our top picks is the <strong>West Overlook Trail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>From the parking lots near the Visitor Center, <mark class=\"hl-yellow\">a gentle, easy path leads you in just a few minutes to a beautiful clifftop viewpoint that&#8217;s especially lovely in the late afternoon<\/mark>. Just keep in mind that the reserve closes at sunset, so give yourself enough time to exit before dark.<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of other trails too, ranging from beginner-friendly strolls to more challenging routes.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold; margin: 1.2em 0 0.6em 0; color: #555;\">Broken Hill Trail<\/h4>\n<p>About 1.4 miles to the beach from the north fork, or about 1.3 miles from the south fork.<br \/>\nThis winding route passes through fragrant chaparral shrubland. The final stretch down to the beach is very narrow and steep. If you walk along the beach, stay away from the base of the cliffs and check the tides before you go, since rockslides and high surf can make the area dangerous.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold;
