The only drawback was having to glance at the center screen to use the turn-signal controls, which felt a bit awkward.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"styled_h3\">Using the Tesla App<\/h3>\n<p>The Tesla app felt truly revolutionary.<\/p>\n<p>The location-sharing feature is great for meeting up or sharing the car among several drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Because each driver can carry a &#8220;key&#8221; on their phone, it&#8217;s incredibly convenient.<\/p>\n<p>Saving individual seat and mirror presets, and sending destinations from your phone straight to the car&#8217;s nav, were especially handy.<\/p>\n<p>One downside is that, when several people use the app, privacy concerns can arise.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"styled_h3\">Full Self-Driving (FSD) First Impressions<\/h3>\n<p>I was a little nervous the first time I enabled full autonomy.<\/p>\n<p>The more I used it, the clearer it became which tasks I could trust the car with and when I needed to step in. My confidence grew quickly.<\/p>\n<p>By drop-off day I felt far more comfortable with FSD; it even doubled as turn-by-turn navigation.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"styled_h3\">FSD: Convenience and Challenges<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5133\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecodriveondemand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\u30a2\u30a4\u30ad\u30e3\u30c3\u30c1\uff12.png\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"700\" height=\"440\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>As noted above, FSD can function like an advanced GPS.<\/strong> In a vast country like the U.S.\u2014especially on unfamiliar roads\u2014that&#8217;s a lifesaver.<\/p>\n<p>It handles lane changes and highway exits, letting you focus on safety.<\/p>\n<p><mark class=\"hl-yellow\">Its performance on right and left turns still isn&#8217;t perfect, but straight-line reliability is high, and it even coped well on winding mountain roads.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p>When you disengage FSD, you can dictate the reason aloud, and that feedback goes straight to Tesla for future updates\u2014a brilliant feature.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"styled_h3\">Expectations vs. Reality<\/h3>\n<p><mark class=\"hl-blue\">Before the trip I expected FSD to handle almost everything on surface streets, so my hopes were high.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p>Because of those high expectations, the shortcomings stood out.
